READING CLIMATE CHANGE

GLOBAL WARMING

WHY IS GLOBAL WARMING A PROBLEM?
The Earth`s temperature is rising and this is causing changes in our climate. these changes bring problems.
Drought
Floods
Extreme weather

Why is it happening, and is it really our fault?
Carbon dioxide is ane of the greenhouse gases, which keep the Earth warm, the planet is overheating because the amount of carbon dioxide is increasing .
And, yes, it is our fault, because we have burnt too many forests and fossil fuels ( for example, coal and oil ). when they are burnt, carbon dioxide us produced so the Earth gets warmer and warmer.

CAN WE DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT?
  • use less electricity: always swutch off lights, , don´t leave the TV on when you aren´t watching it.
  • save oil: walk or cycle to scool, or use public transport; buy local food ( to reduce air miles)
  • recycl¨: when you recycle things ( for example, paper and cans) the material is used again, and this saves energy.
